Ein aktiver Farbstoff, der auf der Außenseite in das Handschuhmaterial eingearbeitet ist, wandelt herkömmlichen Sauerstoff in sogenannten Singulett-Sauerstoff 1O2 um, sobald das Handschuhmaterial mit Licht und Sauerstoff in Verbindung kommt.
Der Singulett-Sauerstoff greift die Zellmembran von grampositiven Bakterien (u.a. MRSA, VRE, etc.) an, was zu einem Absterben der betroffenen Mikroorganismen führt.
Die Wirksamkeit liegt bei bis zu 99,999% der betroffenen Mikroorganismen (Keime, Bakterien).

Der Einsatz von Nitril Liox kann dazu beitragen, die Übertragungsraten von Keimen wie MRSA in Ihrer Einrichtung zu reduzieren.
Singulett-Sauerstoff ist ein nichtselektives System, das schnell gegen zahlreiche mikrobielle Komponenten wirken kann. Es liegt – anders als etwa bei Antibiotika – kein Schutzmechanismus in den Bakterien vor, mit dem sie sich vor Singulett-Sauerstoff schützen können.
Da sich Singulett-Sauerstoff nicht aufbraucht, ist die Wirkweise jederzeit gegeben. Zum anderen ist er flüchtig und daher werden keine dauerhaften Biozide freigesetzt.
